We do not coach competitive bodybuilders or physique competitors. We respect that discipline, but it’s not our specialty—and we won’t pretend otherwise. If you're looking for cookie-cutter programs, or you're unwilling to track your food, log your training, and stay accountable to your goals, this probably isn’t the right fit.

Discuss wins, challenges, strategies, & gameplans along with movement analysis and protocol adherence. Your coach will provide consistent, feedback + support.

STEP-BY-STEP: HOW TO GET STARTED

Whether you’re local to Denver or joining us for online personal training, this takes about 15 minutes. The more detail you provide, the better.

01 Fill Out The Application

Within 24 to 48 hours, your Dark Horse Athlete coach will contact you to book a consultation. We'll review your application in detail, go over pricing and packages, and answer all your questions. In-person clients may choose to meet with their personal trainer in person instead of on Zoom.

02 Free 60-Minute Consultation
  • In-person: We’ll confirm your weekly training schedule and book your first session.

  • Online: You’ll complete an onboarding form that outlines your available equipment and preferred training times.

03 Schedule and Onboard

All clients complete both:

  • Physical assessment (movement patterns, mobility, strength baselines)

  • Nutritional assessment via MacroStax, which your coach will monitor daily

You will also receive full access to:

  • MacroStax (custom nutrition platform)

  • TruCoach (training delivery and performance tracking)

04 Assessments

Your coach will build out your complete personal training and nutrition game plan, tailored to your goals, schedule, equipment, and lifestyle.

05 Custom Plan Built for You

This is where the work begins. Your coach will be in your corner every step of the way, holding you accountable and making adjustments as needed.

For 1-on-1 coaching, we don’t offer quick fixes or generic templates. This is a results-based coaching model built around your life, your body, and your goals. If you’re coachable, consistent, and committed, we’ll help you get results you didn’t think were possible.
